On 28 March 2025, The Remarkable Reinventors Workshop – Voices of Reinvention* took place at Csuites by The Great Room, PLQ 3. Hosted by Su-Yen Wong, the first female Chairperson of the Singapore Institute of Directors, the event gathered a distinguished panel of seasoned leaders to explore the evolving nature of leadership and purpose beyond conventional retirement age.
Representing Genashtim Pvt Ltd, Thomas Ng (68) joined fellow panelists Linda Locke (71), Philip Forrest (75), Dr. William Wan (78), and Dr. Kanwaljit Soin (83) in a thought-provoking discussion on staying engaged, relevant, and impactful later in life. Each speaker brought a wealth of lived experience, highlighting how reinvention and purpose continue well into their 70s and 80s.
Thomas founded Genashtim in 2008, when he was 51. Driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact, he created a fully remote, tech-enabled employment model to provide sustainable job opportunities for people with disabilities (PWDs) and other disadvantaged communities. His bold vision—to bring work to those who cannot access traditional workplaces—was well ahead of its time, anticipating the global shift to remote work more than a decade later.
Today, Genashtim operates in over 30 countries, proving that inclusive, purpose-driven business models are not only sustainable but scalable. Thomas’ continued leadership underscores the belief that age is no barrier to innovation and impact.
The workshop served as a powerful reminder that meaningful work does not end with age—it evolves. Thomas’ participation highlights Genashtim’s commitment to ongoing reinvention, using technology and inclusivity as tools to build a more equitable future.
