Thomas Ng Invited as Judge for the MRA Awards 2026
Thomas Ng, Founder and CEO of Genashtim, was invited to serve as one of the esteemed judges for the Malaysia Retailers Association (MRA) Awards 2026, in recognition of his experience in sustainability, social responsibility, and innovation. For Thomas, the invitation was an opportunity to contribute his perspective to an initiative that recognizes retailers creating both commercial value and positive impact.
Held on 15 June 2026 at Menara UOA Bangsar, the judging session brought together a distinguished panel of industry leaders to evaluate some of Malaysia’s most forward-thinking retailers.
Joining Thomas on the judging panel were:
- Dato’ Rohaizi Bin Bahari, Division Secretary of Distributive Trade and Business Sector, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living
- Augustine Wong, Director of Programme, Sunway College and Stylo Fashion Design Technology Hub
As part of the judging process, Thomas evaluated finalists in two categories:
- Best Efforts in Social Responsibility – Recognizing retailers that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to environmental conservation, community contributions, and public education through meaningful social responsibility initiatives.
- Most Innovative Retail Concept – Celebrating retailers that have introduced creative and impactful retail concepts that enhance customer experience and drive industry innovation.
A total of seven finalist companies presented their initiatives to the judging panel, showcasing how the retail industry continues to evolve through purpose-driven practices and innovative thinking.
Thomas was invited to join the panel in recognition of his extensive experience in building businesses that create both commercial and social value. Under his leadership, Genashtim has championed inclusive employment, sustainable business practices, and innovation that empowers disadvantaged communities while delivering meaningful impact for clients around the world.
For Thomas, being invited to contribute to the MRA Awards was more than a professional recognition. It provided an opportunity to support and encourage businesses that are putting responsible practices and innovation into action. The experience also reflected values that have long shaped his leadership at Genashtim — that businesses can pursue growth while creating meaningful value for people, communities, and society.
Thomas congratulates all the finalists for their inspiring presentations and looks forward to seeing the continued impact of their work on Malaysia’s retail landscape.
